La cueva El Brinco es uno de los sitios de la sierra de San Francisco que presentan uno de los mayores grados de
dificultad para acceder a él. Su nombre remite al corte abrupto de las cañadas y laderas que de pronto caen en
vertical hacia el vacío. Sin embargo, su visita es recompensada con la observación de un serial de formas
pictóricas cuya limpieza permite una lectura de las de mayor amabilidad. El lugar donde se encuentran estas
pinturas rupestres permite observar un paisaje que ahora se valora como un paisaje ritual, es decir de pertenencia
común a una cultura en donde lo sagrado delimitaba a lo profano. Así, las cuevas pintadas pueden ser vistas como
los lugares sagrados de quienes estuvieron poblando la península y expresándose de esta manera desde hace
miles de años.
CENTROS CEREMONIALES
En términos generales, los sitios con pinturas rupestres tienen para muchos la consideración de verdaderos centros
ceremoniales, unos más grandes que otros pero al fin de cuentas con ese mismo carácter. De todo ellos sabemos que
destaca sobremanera la cueva Pintada, la cual se localiza en el mismo conjunto en el que se podemos considerar
que se inscribe esta cueva llamada El Brinco.
The El Brinco cave is one of the sites of the San Francisco mountain range that have one of the highest levels of
difficulty in accessing it. Its name refers to the abrupt cut of the ravines and slopes that suddenly fall
vertically into the void. However, your visit is rewarded with the observation of a series of pictorial forms
whose cleaning allows a reading of the most kind. The place where these cave paintings are found allows us to
observe a landscape that is now valued as a ritual landscape, that is, of common belonging to a culture where
the sacred delimited the profane. Thus, the painted caves can be seen as the sacred places of those who were
populating the peninsula and expressing themselves in this way for thousands of years.
CEREMONIAL CENTERS.
In general terms, the sites with cave paintings have for many the consideration of true ceremonial centers, some larger than others but ultimately with the same character. From all of them we know that the Pintada cave stands out, which is located in the same complex in which we can consider that this cave called El Brinco is inscribed.
